East and west salalah tour is a full-day private tour that allows you to explore the natural and cultural attractions of both sides of Salalah, such as the fishing village of Taqah, the ancient city of Sumharam, the green valley of Wadi Darbat, and the beach of Mughsail with its blow holes and frankincense trees.

The excursion begins with a visit to the old fishing village of ‘Taqah’, famous for the manufacture of ‘Dried Sardines’ & its traditional & old ‘Dhofari Houses’. Visit the century old ‘Taqah Castle’, the former official residence of the ‘Wali’ (Governor) of the region & obtain a glimpse into the rich history of the region. Continue onto the ancient ruins of the once famous city of Sumharam (Khor Rohri). Khor Rori was an important port on the coast of Dhofar, and one of the major trading cities with frankincense, (UNESCO World Heritage site). A picturesque drive then leads you to explore the ‘ever green Wadi Darbat’ for a relaxing stroll along the Wadi bed, surrounded by herds of Camels, Goats & Cattle.ON WEST OF SALALAH visit beach of Mughsail where the white sand, where waves burst through the natural titanic ‘Blow Holes’. See the historical ‘Frankincense trees’ growing in their natural habitat.

What is the start time of the tour?
You can start the half day tours either in the morning or in the afternoon, depending on your preference. For the morning tour, we suggest you start between 8 am and 10 am. It’s better to start early in the peak season.
